Most critics enjoyed this sci-fi adventure about kids filming a movie when a train crash unleashes something dangerous. They singled out the suspense, the effects and the warmth between the young cast members. A common reservation was that it borrows so openly from early Spielberg that it sometimes feels like homage over originality.
